Blindness: The Movie

Jose Saramago's Blindness is probably one of my favorite books. City of God is probably one of my favorite films. So to see City of God director Fernando Meirelles do a film version of Blindness clearly feels like a bit of good business.

My only problem is, part of the greatness of the book is the way it never specifies what culture or city the chaos is occurring in, which gives it a certain beauty. Hopefully that translates into film.
